8th Grade

Guiding Students Towards Success

Champions For Learning offers two programs to 8th graders attending Collier County Public Schools: Take Stock in Children and Technical Pathways. Mentoring is the cornerstone to Take Stock in Children, which guides students towards successful completion of high school and enrollment in college. Students participate in frequent workshops and meet with their College Success Coach on a regular basis to monitor progress towards their individualized success plans. Upon successful completion of the program, students earn a Florida Prepaid College Foundation 2-year state college tuition scholarship. Students enrolled in Technical Pathways receive guidance on how to navigate the academic, technical, and real-world knowledge, skills, and experience needed to be prepared for a career.

For students not participating in one of these programs, Champions For Learning provides grade specific checklists and resource guides to assist students and parents. In 10th grade, students have an opportunity to apply for Champions For Learning’s College and Career Preparation Program.
