8th Grade

Guiding Students Towards Success

Champions For Learning’s College and Career Prep Programs offers two tracks to 8th graders attending Collier County Public Schools: Take Stock in Children and Pathways to Success – Foundations.  The core components of these programs include positive mentorship from a volunteer mentor, foundational workshops, and life-skills development. Students participate in frequent workshops and meet with their College Success Coach on a regular basis to monitor progress towards their individualized success plans. Upon successful completion of the program, students may be eligible for a Florida Prepaid College Foundation 2-year state college tuition scholarship.

For students not participating in our programs, Champions For Learning provides grade specific checklists and resource guides to assist students and parents. In 10th grade, students have an opportunity to apply for Champions For Learning’s College and Career Preparation Program.

Please note: There is only one application that students need to complete for consideration in both Pathways to Success and Take Stock in Children. Applicants will be considered for both program tracks. Final program placement is determined by program eligibility and specific program requirements.
