For Students, Our Work for Students

Congratulations Take Stock in Children Graduates

On April 25, fifty high school seniors walked across the stage as they accepted their certificate of completion of the Take Stock in Children Scholarship and Mentoring program of Champions For Learning.

Champions For Learning is extremely proud of the accomplishments of these students:

  • A GPA average of 4.29
  • $887,080 in scholarship dollars
  • Over 7,049 community service hours

These students have not only successfully completed the program, but have also earned a 2-year tuition scholarship to a Florida state college.

“I know that my family is grateful for all my experiences and all that I have learned through this program,” says Angie, a graduating Take Stock student.

This year’s program included some community recognition as well.

This senior class was dedicated in honor of Nancy and Skip Potter for their consistent support with Take Stock in Children and Champions For Learning.

William and Nena Beynon were named as senior mentors of the year as well as Jack and Joan Toren who had been recognized at Night of Champions as mentors of the year.

During the ceremony, Nancy addressed the graduating class and gave them some wisdom.

“Persevere and never become discouraged as there is always a path forward and every encounter and every experience is a life lesson,” says Nancy. “Worry less about timetables for success and by conventional definitions of success.”
